I took on girl from a larger picture and added a background from an antique store with a chair and then used a filter of a painting effect to give it a new look. I like the result.

Boy in the Snow

This is another version with a toned filter that makes the picture seem to fit together better.

This shows a little of the process for doing these photo pictures. I colored all the boys first, then moved them to a new background of an orchard as this seemed like a better setting for them in their costumes.

I changed the background on this one as I decided the other one was too strong and it is best to keep the background less obtrusive for the most part.

Two more photo paintings. These were the earlier ones. I think my work is getting better with each one. We learn from trying many times.

The smoking doll. This was really a mistake as the original picture had a scratch on the doll's face and it looked like a cigarette, so I thought it would be funny to have the doll smoking in an otherwise very sweet picture and I added a part from an old advertisement as the colors went well the the other parts of the picture even if the time period may be off. If it works in the colors and is pleasing to look at, that is what is important.

Vintage book cover is behind the children. I painted the photo and then used a filter to intensify the colors.

I am doing a series of pictures of children. I like doing brothers and sisters for this group and they are receiving good feedback on Facebook.

I have been working on some new art by painting over old photographs and like the results. A certain compelling look to them that is resonating with Facebook friends, so this encourages me to do more of them.
