Unusual Effects

I had great fun with a program that will take any image and change it into something entirely different. This was a piece of fabric with red dots, but they are gone and in there place is a bunch of bubbles.

Hooray for Spring!

We had a lovely day! So warm and breezy. The young ladies here show us the exuberance and joy we feel with new life and warmth.

Two Unhappy Clown Boys

Boy in Clown costume

This is a little different direction, but still using photos for the basis of the art work. An outline was done with a marker in the Painter program and then color was added with the Paint Bucket feature. It is a more poster like effect.

Child and her Doll

Good Morning!

The gentleman is off to work and his wife decided to walk with him to the street. Perhaps she will get the newspaper and head back into her nice home for a cup of coffee.

Lady and her dog

I took a photo and turned it into a drawing, then added clones of various fabrics and some painting. This creates a whole new feeling for the picture.

Old Memories in one place

I have put together a collage using a variety of very old things over a photo of two girls. The dolls are in poor shape, but somehow the dolls work better if they are distressed.

On the Road

I was very influenced by the book "On the Road" and when I saw this photo, it reminded me of Jack Kerouac and Neil Cassidy. I also was at Big Sur this past summer and Jack spent time here and even wrote a book about his experience living there in a cabin. This picture is a representation of both books..."Big Sur" and "On the Road"...

Women's Baseball Team

Women were playing in sports despite their uncomfortable or inappropriate clothing. Their spirit still shines through and they will keep on trying to be active in spite of the culture adversity.

A Lavendar Mood

I like to fix up old pictures in various ways. I don't want them to look like just a tinted photo but to add design elelments and color which will make them into an art work.

Man and his camera

I combined two photos and added color. Man was in another picture by himself, so I gave him something to photograph!

Musical Group in the field

Tribute to Moria Shearer

I just learned about the death of Moria Shearer while I was watching the Oscars last night.
I had created a paper doll of her many years ago, but wanted to do a special tribute to her, so I will add it here. Like many girls of the early 1950's, I saw the film, "The Red Shoes" and this gave us a different view of the ballet world. It was darker and probably more realistic than many of the musicals I'd seen in the past. I had always loved dance, and this film left a very deep impression which has remained always. Moria was so beautiful with her red hair and ivory skin.
This paper doll does capture her likeness well and I hope younger people will watch the film.

Painted Photo

Photo Composition

I like this one! I had fun once again with the cloner brush and using some parts of paintings I like.
The colors are so rich and so these children in dull clothes are now in bright orange and red with a sunny background. I enjoy creating combinations of the old and new.
